Go Youn Jung shared her thoughts on her chemistry with co-star Kim Seon Ho after the success of their Netflix series Can This Love Be Translated?.
In an interview on January 23rd, Go talked about playing global star Cha Moo Hee and her partnership with Kim, who plays the multilingual interpreter Joo Ho Jin.
The two have already won over global fans with their natural chemistry both on and off-screen. Despite a 10-year age gap, their dynamic feels seamless to viewers.
When asked about the age difference, Go said she never really noticed it. “I didn’t think much about it,” she said. “I knew he’s an actor with a lot of experience, so I was worried about whether we’d connect.”
To break the ice, Go turned to pop culture. “I taught him memes and recommended popular phrases and YouTubers I enjoy,” she laughed.
Their bond grew naturally as they found common interests. “Just like Ho Jin speaks Moo Hee’s language in the show, Kim Seon Ho started enjoying the things I like on set. After that, I didn’t feel the age difference at all.”
The interviewer mentioned that Kim Seon Ho had said in a previous interview that he felt “heart-fluttering moments” with Go during filming.
Go smiled and thought for a moment before responding, “There definitely were moments,” she said. “But I can’t remember a specific scene right now.”
She highlighted their great teamwork as the key to their success. “Our chemistry was amazing. We trusted each other and did a lot of ad-libs. Our comedic styles matched well from the beginning—we clicked right away.”
