The Husband is officially coming this summer.
Disney+ has confirmed that The Husband will premiere on July 4th, and released a poster and second teaser, offering a glimpse at a bold new crime thriller.
The Husband follows a man who is pushed into a dangerous fight against a ruthless criminal after his wife is kidnapped just before their divorce. Namkoong Min, Kim Dae Myung, Lee Sul and Lee Sang Hee lead the cast, with Hyper Knife and Awaken director Kim Jung Hyun behind the camera.
The newly released poster immediately catches the eye with the stark contrast between Namkoong Min as Kang Tae Ju, a husband who becomes a suspect in a murder-for-hire case after his wife is kidnapped, and Kim Dae Myung as No Man Hee, the chilling kidnapper behind the crime. The ominous tagline, “What happened to your wife… is all because of you,” deepens the mystery surrounding the kidnapping.
The second teaser opens with Kang Tae Ju screaming, “Don’t come any closer,” as a gunshot rings out, pulling viewers straight into the chaos. While being questioned by police as a suspect in the murder-for-hire case tied to his wife Go Se Yun’s (Lee Sul) kidnapping, Kang Tae Ju goes on the run and becomes a wanted man, desperately trying to find his wife while being chased by police.
The trailer also offers a disturbing look at No Man Hee, who reveals the madness hidden behind his seemingly kind face as he says, “There’s a limit to how much a person can endure. And I’ve reached mine.” The tension intensifies with flashes of Go Se Yun running as if someone is after her, and Kim Kyung Ae (Lee Sang Hee) wearing an eerie smile.
As breathless chase scenes, brutal fights and gunfire unfold, the teaser asks, “How far can Kang Tae Ju go for his wife?”
With its shocking premise of a wife being kidnapped right before a divorce and her husband being framed as a murder-for-hire suspect, The Husband promises suffocating suspense, unpredictable twists and a fast-moving story that keeps viewers on edge.
The Husband will premiere July 4th, with new episodes released every Saturday and Sunday. The series will stream on Wavve and Disney+ in Korea, Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in other countries.
