Perfect Crown, which aired on MBC and concluded on May 16th, is a drama series set in a constitutional monarchy in 21st-century South Korea. The show followed the romance between chaebol heiress Sung Hee Joo (played by IU) and Prince Ian (Byeon Woo Seok) as they overcame social barriers and class differences.
The series performed strongly in the ratings despite controversy during its run over allegations of historical distortion. Its final episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 13.8%, according to Nielsen Korea, marking the show’s highest rating and the third-highest rating ever achieved by an MBC Friday-Saturday drama.
