JTBC has confirmed the main cast for its upcoming drama Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness (literal title), a highly anticipated new project from writer Park Hae Young.
The series centers on people struggling to find peace while battling jealousy and insecurity in a world full of seemingly successful friends. With “anxiety” as its core theme, the drama promises an emotionally resonant look at modern life.
Park Hae Young, known for My Mister and My Liberation Notes, returns with her signature, introspective storytelling. The project is also directed by Cha Young Hoon, the creator behind When the Camellia Blooms and Welcome to Samdalri.
Koo Kyo Hwan takes on his first-ever lead role in a TV series, playing Hwang Dong Man, an aspiring film director who is the only member of an elite film circle yet to make his debut. Masking his constant anxiety with endless monologues and bravado, Dong Man clings to the group while feeling perpetually left behind.
Go Youn Jung stars as Byun Eun A, a sharp-tongued film producer nicknamed “The Axe” for her ruthless script reviews. Calm on the outside, Eun A secretly battles emotional overload and deep-seated trauma.
Oh Jung Se portrays Park Kyung Se, a once-successful director whose latest film flopped, leaving him consumed by insecurity and a complicated love-hate relationship with Dong Man.
Kang Mal Geum plays Go Hye Jin, the head of a film company and Kyung Se’s wife, a firm yet warm producer who holds the film circle together. Park Hae Joon appears as Hwang Jin Man, Dong Man’s older brother, a former poet now living on the margins after a series of personal failures.
The production team shared, “This drama follows people who have stopped in the face of feeling worthless and slowly learn to breathe again by embracing one another’s flaws.” They added, “By looking honestly at jealousy and envy, we hope to offer viewers both deep empathy and quiet comfort.”
Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness is set to air on JTBC in the first half of 2026.
