A special variety show featuring the main cast of the hit K-drama Love in the Moonlight is reportedly in the works to celebrate the drama’s 10th anniversary.

YTN Star reported on June 15th that the production team is preparing a variety program for the popular historical drama Love in the Moonlight.

The five lead actors—Kim Yoo Jung, Park Bo Gum, Jinyoung, Chae Soo Bin and Kwak Dong Yeon—are currently in discussions to take part. Filming is tentatively planned for early August, though the airing date has not yet been confirmed.

Love in the Moonlight originally aired on KBS2 from August to October 2016. Based on a web novel, the series tells the story of a romance in the royal court between Crown Prince Lee Yeong, who hides his emotions, and Hong Ra On, a woman disguising herself as a eunuch.

Blending humor, romance and strong ensemble performances, the drama became a major hit, peaking at 23.3% in viewership ratings.

The series also helped boost the careers of its lead actors, particularly Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung, whose chemistry earned them the Best Couple Award at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards. Park Bo Gum received the Top Excellence Award, while Kim Yoo Jung won the Excellence Award for a mid-length drama.

Over the years, all five main cast members have continued to build successful acting careers, becoming top stars in their own right.

Although coordinating schedules has reportedly been challenging, the cast is said to be considering the project with fans in mind as they prepare for the special anniversary program.
