
Park Bo Gum’s show The Village Barber has been confirmed for a second season.
tvN announced on April 6th that the show, which ended on April 3rd, will return for a second season. The broadcast is scheduled for later this year.
The Village Barber follows Park Bo Gum, Lee Sang Yi and Kwak Dong Yeon as they run a unique hair salon in a small village in Muju. The salon not only offers haircuts but also helps with emotional healing. Park Bo Gum, a licensed hairdresser, takes care of the styling, while Lee Sang Yi, who earned a nail technician license for the show, and Kwak Dong Yeon handle cooking and other assistant duties.
The show became a big hit, topping its time slot for seven weeks in the 2049 target audience and ranking in the top 10 for nine weeks on the FUNDEX popularity index. As of April 2nd, it has garnered over 260 million views.
The Village Barber has also gained a global following, reaching fans in about 200 countries, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, Europe and Oceania. On IMDb, the show holds a rating of 9.5, proving its popularity among international viewers and highlighting its success among new shows this year.
