Park Bo Gum is about to show off a surprising new skill: he’s a licensed barber.
tvN announced on November 19th that its new variety show, Bo Gum Magical (literal title), is set to premiere in the first half of 2026. The show will feature Park Bo Gum leading a team that includes his close real-life friends, Lee Sang Yi and Kwak Dong Yeon, as they run a unique hair salon in a quiet rural village.
Park Bo Gum famously earned his national barber’s license while serving in the military. He has previously shared how he cut his fellow soldiers’ hair and imagined himself as a hair designer. Now, that vision is becoming a reality. Reports say his skills are already at a high level, and he has been practicing diligently ahead of filming to ensure he provides the best service to the villagers.
Joining him are his close friends. Lee Sang Yi will act as the “face” of the salon, using his friendly energy to communicate with the villagers and turn the shop into a community hub. Kwak Dong Yeon, known for his practical skills on other variety shows, will take on the role of the “fixer,” handling cooking, repairs and any unexpected issues that arise.
The three have reportedly been preparing for Bo Gum Magical for about a year, personally involved in everything from scouting the salon’s location to planning the remodeling and interior design.
The show is scheduled to air on tvN in early 2026.
