The highly anticipated historical action film The Sword: Rebirth of the Red Wolf has officially started filming. Directed by Kim Han Min, known for hits like The Admiral: Roaring Currents and Hansan: Rising Dragon, the movie is set after the fall of Goguryeo.

The story follows a warrior who loses his memory and becomes a slave. He enters a gladiator tournament to win a legendary sword, not knowing his past.

On March 3rd, Director Kim Han Min and the cast gathered for a special table read and rehearsals. The actors performed action sequences with their lines, diving deep into their characters to bring the story to life.

Park Bo Gum plays Chil Seong, the warrior without memory who fights in the gladiator arena. This role marks a big change in his acting career, as he portrays a character struggling to survive without knowledge of his past.

Joo Won will play Gye Pil Ha Ryeok, a cool-headed warrior from the Turkic Khaganate tribes. He’ll show off high-level sword-fighting skills and strong charisma.

Jung Jae Young takes on the role of Heuk Su Gang, the leader of a Goguryeo revival group. His character holds the chaos of the era together.

Lee Sun Bin plays Maya, a strong-willed member of the revival group who also participates in action sequences.

Tran Thanh, a Vietnamese actor, plays Xue Rengui, a commander from the Tang Dynasty with a commanding presence.

Kim Jae Cheol, known for Exhuma, will portray Yelü, a strategic thinker from the Khitan people.

Choi Gwi Hwa will play Dae Ha Jin Chung, the powerful chieftain of the Khitan.

Park Myung Hoon, famous for Parasite, will play Pung Sa, a former gatekeeper of Liaodong Fortress.

Lee Soon Won plays Jeok Geol, the strategist to Xue Rengui, overseeing the gladiator tournament.

The movie is produced by Bigstone Pictures and Bluefire Studio, with REDICE ENTERTAINMENT handling investment and distribution. The Sword: Rebirth of the Red Wolf is set to be released in 2027, aiming to reach audiences worldwide, including in Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.
