Former Kwon Mina revealed that she was recently rescued after attempting suicide, sharing a brief but alarming account of the incident.
On January 1st, Kwon posted a long message titled “Goodbye. And I’m sorry,” then returned two hours later with a follow-up describing what happened during the attempt.
“If it had been left just a little longer, I could have kept my promise,” she wrote. “I heard a noise, someone started shaking me, and my consciousness kept fading in and out. I kept thinking, ‘Please.’ But I was rescued again.”
Calling herself “the girl who cried wolf,” Kwon added a line that raised serious concern among fans: “But I will keep my promise someday—disappearing right in front of your eyes.”
Earlier, Kwon had posted about the severe mental distress she has been enduring, acknowledging that many of her past posts were made while she was not in a stable state. “I wasn’t normal,” she wrote. “I posted things that shocked people and exhausted everyone. But I did it because I was truly wronged.”
She also addressed her ongoing legal battle related to a sexual assault case, saying the lack of physical evidence has made the process especially painful. “The assault was acknowledged, but the injury wasn’t proven,” she wrote, adding that the perpetrator was found not guilty in the first trial due to the statute of limitations.
Kwon cited fear of retaliation, concern that her mother might find out, and financial hardship as reasons evidence was not left behind. “I didn’t even have money to go to the hospital,” she said.
Responding to criticism over her past claims of bullying during her time in AOA, Kwon wrote, “People say I ruined the group. That I destroyed it. They’re right.” She added, “I did curse—relentlessly. You could call it a 10-year revenge.”
She closed with a stark message: “In every situation, evidence is everything. Always leave proof. Don’t live your life feeling wronged,” followed by thanks—and apologies—to those who treated her with kindness.
Kwon debuted with AOA in 2012 and left the group in 2019 to pursue acting. In 2021, she accused former AOA leader Shin Jimin of bullying her for over a decade, which led to Shin’s departure from the team. Last November, Kwon signed with Moden Berry Korea to resume acting, but the contract was mutually terminated last month.
