Netflix has set an August 28th premiere date for Mousetrap, unveiling the mystery thriller’s first teaser poster and trailer.
Inspired by the Korean folktale “The Field Mouse Who Ate Fingernails” — the story of a mouse that becomes a human after eating a person’s fingernails — the series follows novelist Moon Jae (played by Ryu Jun Yeol) after a mysterious impostor steals his name, face and entire life.
To reclaim his identity, Moon Jae joins forces with private moneylender No Ja (played by Sul Kyung Gu), and detective Soon Yong (played by Lee Kyoo Hyung), as they hunt down the figure known only as “the field mouse.”
The teaser poster shows Moon Jae staring ahead as another face emerges beside him in the darkness. A mouse-like figure takes shape through splattered black ink, accompanied by the tagline, “Prove I’m real or I’m the impostor.”

In the trailer, Moon Jae’s quiet, reclusive life begins to unravel when his fingerprint suddenly fails to unlock his mobile banking account. Moments later, something strikes his living room window, signaling that someone has been preparing for years to take everything from him.
But after spending so long in isolation, even the people around Moon Jae no longer recognize him.
“This is a twisted game where you have to find yourself,” No Ja tells him.
The footage also teases brutal fights, car chases and a relentless pursuit as Moon Jae, No Ja and Soon Yong close in on the impostor.
“Who am I? Do you want to know?” a chilling voice asks in the final moments.
Directed by Kim Hong Sun, known for Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, The Guest and Voice, Mousetrap is written by A Model Family and Special Affairs Team TEN writer Lee Jae Gon.
Mousetrap premieres August 28th, exclusively on Netflix.
