Lee Dong Hwi is getting candid about his desire to get married soon.
During a recent appearance on ZOZAZZ’s YouTube show, the actor opened up about his serious thoughts on marriage, just ten months after his high-profile split from actress Jung Ho Yeon.
His main reason, he explained, is his aging parents. “I feel like there isn’t enough time,” he said seriously. “If I have children later, my parents won’t have time to see their grandchildren. Because I feel like I’m running out of time, I think, ‘I need to get married quickly.'”
He added, “I always had a vague idea that I wanted to get married early. But I feel like I’m a bit late now.”
The conversation started after the host told Lee that he “need to get married.” While another guest, Gray, joked that his mom is in a hurry, not him, the host noted that Gray isn’t “very proactive in dating.” When Lee Dong Hwi asked about himself, the host declared, “You are the most proactive person in South Korea,” sending the group into laughter.
Lee’s comments on marriage come after his public breakup with Squid Game star Jung Ho Yeon last November, which ended their nine-year relationship.
