Player 2: Master of Swindlers (6/3)

Player will be returning with Season 2. The first season, released in 2018, showcased a team consisting of a swindler, a driver, a hacker, and a fighter as they retrieved hidden criminal properties through thrilling action scenes. Song Seung Heon, Lee Si Eon, and Tae Won Suk will once again reunite as a team, while Jang Gu Ri is set to replace Kyrstal. Moreover, Oh Yeon Seo will show off a new side of herself as the mysterious client. Lee Soo Hyuk, Lim Seul Ong, and Huh Sung Tae will also be joining the show. All eyes are on whether the new season, equipped with a more organized team and a larger scale, will be able to receive the same positive reactions as before.

Hierarchy (6/7)

Netflix’s June new release is Hierarchy, a teen drama set in a prestigious private high school. The story unfolds as a transfer student, selected as part of the noblesse oblige program, enters a private school attended only by children from the upper class. This reminds us of the Spanish drama Elite, which achieved worldwide success and gained popularity with its fast-paced plot and shocking exposure to the desires of teenagers. Hierarchy is expected to unfold with a conflict narrative that incorporates Korean themes such as school violence. Can this Korean-style class society story centered on teenagers captivate viewers? However, some have already expressed fatigue in seeing this type of story again.

My Sweet Mobster (6/12)

Uhm Tae Goo, who has always played serious and dark characters, has transformed into the lead of a lighthearted romantic comedy. My Sweet Mobster tells the story of a man with a dark past who has turned his life around after meeting a woman who works as a kids’ content creator. Uhm Tae Goo plays a man with a pure heart hidden behind a gruff exterior, and Han Sun Hwa plays the woman who helps him open up. The drama is expected to bring excitement and heartwarming emotion through the story of two people from different worlds who come to understand each other’s wounds and fall in love. DKZ’s Jaechan also appears as the youngest member of the team who loyally follows his boss.

Miss Night and Day  (6/15)

Jung Eun Ji and Lee Jung Eun will play one character in their upcoming series. Miss Night and Day follows a young woman named Lee Mi Jin who has been preparing for the civil service exam for eight years, and her life takes a strange turn when she begins to experience a bizarre phenomenon: she transforms into a middle-aged woman during the day. Jung Eun Ji will play the role of the young woman in her 20s, while Lee Jung Eun will play the role of her middle-aged self in her 50s. The drama has already garnered much anticipation, and viewers are excited to see how they will portray the two very different sides of the same character. Choi Jin Hyuk will also star in the drama as Gye Ji Woong, a workaholic prosecutor who becomes entangled with them both professionally and romantically.

The Whirlwind (6/28)

The Whirlwind is a political drama that follows the sharp conflict between the Prime Minister (Sol Kyung Gu) who decides to assassinate the President to upend the system and the Deputy Prime Minister of Economy (Kim Hee Ae) who aims to stop him and seize power.

DNA Lover (TBA)

DNA Lover is a romantic drama that follows the story of Han So Jin, a genetics researcher who has failed numerous relationships, as she embarks on a journey to find her perfect match using genetics. Jung In Sun takes on the role of Han So Jin, a researcher obsessed with finding a genetic match for a successful relationship. Choi Si Won stars as Shim Yeon Woo, an obstetrician-gynecologist who ends relationships when women become too attached to him. Lee Tae Hwan joins the cast as Seo Kang Hoon, a handsome firefighter, while Jung Yoo Jin plays Jang Mi Eun, Yeon Woo’s ex-girlfriend and a relationship columnist.

Agents of Mystery (6/18)

Fresh off the success of The Devil’s Plan, Netflix teamed up again with TV producer Jung Jong Yeon to bring forth a new mystery variety show. Agents of Mystery is a detective show that will follow Hyeri, Kim Do Hoon, Karina, Lee Yong Jin, John Park, and Lee Eun Ji as they track down and solve strange and inexplicable events that defy scientific explanations. Positive reactions have poured in for the cast’s chemistry and the impressive scale of the sets with the release of the trailer.
