Lee Joon and Jang Hyuk will meet in a K-drama for the first time in nine years since Iris 2(2013).
According to a report by Hankyung Dotcom on the 17th, Lee Joon will play the role of Yi Tae, the main character of KBS’ new film Single heart in red and Jang Hyuk will be playing Park Gye Won.
Single heart in red is a fictional historical series that depicts the political confrontation between Yi Tae and Park Gye Won. Yi Tae is of royal blood who wants to become an absolute monarch, unlike his father. Park Gye Won is a powerful aristocrat who wants to take over Chosun after successfully leading the rebellion against the tyrant and making the figurehead king.
Lee Tae (Lee Joon) aims to exterminate Park Kye Won and anti-government meritorious subjects to strengthen his royal authority. Park Gye Won (Jang Hyuk) will continue his conflict against Yi Tae. As an actual authority, Park makes everyone obey him without showing his absolute power.
The drama special Monster, First Love Again, and Marry me Now writer Park Pil Joo will write a script. It will air in the first half of 2022.
