Kang Hanna may play a female lead in the new historical drama.
On Wednesday, Kang’s agency KeyEast shared, “Kang Hanna received an offer from KBS’s new series Red Single Heart and is positively reviewing it.”
Red Single Heart is a fictional historical series that depicts the political confrontation between Yi Tae and Park Gye Won. Yi Tae is of royal blood who wants to become an absolute monarch, unlike his father. Park Gye Won is a powerful aristocrat who wants to take over Chosun after successfully leading the rebellion against the tyrant.
If Kang joins the project, she will be playing free-spirited Yoo Jung. According to the plot, her family faces a crisis when Yi Tae selects her to be his queen. And unwillingly, she gets swept up in the power struggle over the throne.
Previously, Lee Joon and Jang Hyuk were cast to take on the roles of Yi Tae and Park Gye Won.
Meanwhile, First Love Again and Marry Me Now writer Park Pil Joo pens the Red Single Heart script. The show will premiere in the first half of 2022.
