According to his agency P Nation, the music video exceeded 4 billion views on the 7th.

This is eight years and seven months since it was first released back in July 2012, and the first record set by a Korean singer. Psy posted a picture commemorating 4 billion views for “Gangnam Style” on his social media on this day tagging and thanking YG Entertainment which was his agency back when the video was posted. He also tagged U.S. Public Records, P Nation, and Scooter Braun, his manager who supported local activities in the U.S.

Through P Nation, the artist informed Yonhap News that it became huge when he started off to enjoy it. “I feel rewarded as a helper for fellow P Nation artists, but this makes me want to have fun as a player myself too. Thank you,” he said.

The said video has surpassed 1 billion views in 161 days since its release, as “Gangnam Style” was the first video to surpass a billion views since YouTube was founded.

It hit 2 billion views for the first time in YouTube’s history in May of 2014 and exceeded 3 billion views in November of 2017. This number of views has been steadily increasing, finally surpassing 4 billion views after three years and three months.

Having celebrated the 20th anniversary of his debut this January, Psy is leading P Nation, the home to artists such as HyunA, DAWN, Crush, Jessi, and Heize.
