BLACKPINK member Rosé has reportedly turned down a lucrative advertising offer.
Analysts suggest this decision reflects the careful consideration of her image and brand direction.
According to recent reports from foreign media outlets like The Korea Herald and industry insiders, Rosé received an advertising model proposal from a prominent Chinese tea beverage brand, valued at approximately $7.3 million (10 billion won), but ultimately declined the offer.
Furthermore, a collaboration with a renowned champagne brand also fell through.
Rosé had been in discussions for about a year with the famous champagne brand, exploring possibilities such as a special edition product bearing her name. However, the collaboration did not materialize as Rosé was reportedly unsatisfied with the proposed bottle design.
The aforementioned media outlet analyzed, “Following the global success of ‘APT.’, Rosé has established herself not just as a member of BLACKPINK, but as a global pop artist recognized under her own name. She now has a level of choice that only a select few K-pop artists can attain. She has reached a position where she can refuse even proposals that are difficult to turn down, based on her own standards.”
Last year, a representative from one BLACKPINK member’s agency told the outlet, “One member has become extremely discerning.” While the identity of this member was not revealed, if it were Rosé, it would indicate her increased control over the detailed outcomes of projects involving her name and image.
Rosé debuted as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016 and began her solo career in 2021. In 2024, she achieved global success with the collaboration song “APT.” with pop star Bruno Mars.
