Jung Hae In and Shin Sae Kyeong will star as a couple in Love Virus (literal title).

Written by Choi Soo Young and Nam In Young and directed by Kim Seok Yoon and Choi Bo Yoon, Love Virus is a romance drama about a couple who have been together for nine years and were each other’s first love. As they consider marriage, the two decide to take a break and date other people before tying the knot, hoping to make sure they have no lingering feelings for anyone else.

The drama is set to premiere on TVING in 2027.

Jung Hae In, known for his strength in romance and melodrama, will play Ha Do Woon, a talented lawyer and Kang Chae Rin’s longtime boyfriend.

The only son of a wealthy family, Ha Do Woon is seemingly perfect in every way. He is handsome, capable, athletic and determined to succeed at whatever he sets his mind to, making him something of a “cheat character.”

Fans are especially anticipating Jung Hae In’s take on a man who has been in a long-term relationship with his first love, as he portrays the familiarity and deep emotional connection that come with years together. The unusual “break time” premise is also expected to add plenty of tension to their romance.

Shin Sae Kyeong will star as Kang Chae Rin, Ha Do Woon’s longtime girlfriend and a practicing dentist.

Kang Chae Rin has been admired for her beauty since her school days and appears to have it all: a successful career, a handsome and capable boyfriend, and a healthy work-life balance. Yet despite her seemingly perfect life, she has started to question whether she wants to continue following the same path she has been on since she was young.

Shin Sae Kyeong is expected to bring a confident, independent energy to the character while capturing the ease and familiarity that come with a relationship that has lasted nearly a decade.

In Love Virus, Ha Do Woon and Kang Chae Rin have always seen marriage as the natural next step in their relationship. But before getting married, they decide to take an unconventional “break” and date other people, hoping to satisfy their curiosity and eliminate any regrets about what they might have missed.

Whether their decision ultimately leads to a happier marriage or becomes the poison that threatens their relationship remains to be seen.

The drama will also mark the first time Jung Hae In and Shin Sae Kyeong have worked together. Viewers are looking forward to their chemistry as they portray a couple with years of shared history before navigating the emotional upheaval caused by their decision to date other people.
