Hyun Bin is opening up about how fatherhood has changed the way he approaches his time off.
The actor appeared alongside Woo Do Hwan on the September 1st episode of Whenever Possible, joining hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo Yeon Seok for a trip to Anyang.
During the episode, Yoo Yeon Seok asked Hyun Bin whether he had taken a summer vacation. Hyun Bin replied, “Now that I have a child, I try to make an effort to go somewhere and do something.”
It was a brief comment, but one that offered a glimpse into how the actor tries to make time for outings and experiences with his son despite his busy schedule.
Yoo Jae Suk, meanwhile, said he had not been able to take a vacation at all this year. “Last year, I managed to take two nights and three days somewhere in Korea, or even just one night and two days, but this year I couldn’t even do that,” he said.
Earlier in the episode, Hyun Bin surprised the group by hiding behind a door before making his entrance. Yoo Jae Suk, who previously worked out at the same gym as the actor, immediately commented on his noticeably bulkier physique.
“You’ve gotten even bigger,” Yoo said, with Woo Do Hwan agreeing, “He’s gotten really big.”
Yoo Jae Suk added, “Hyun Bin and I used to work out together. He even came over and helped me train my triceps,” before proudly adding, “Gong Yoo and Hyun Bin were the two biggest names at our gym.”
When Yoo Yeon Seok looked at his arm and questioned whether the training had actually worked, Hyun Bin deadpanned, “It’s gotten thinner since then,” drawing laughs.
Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin first worked together on the 2018 film The Negotiation before reuniting in the hit drama Crash Landing on You. The pair married in March 2022 and welcomed their son that November.
The couple have continued working on their respective projects while making time for family trips and outings with their son.
