
The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival has unveiled a star-packed guest list for its 2026 opening ceremony, with Park Chan Wook, Song Joong Ki, Shim Eun Kyung, Yoo Hae Jin, Park So Dam and Um Tae Goo among those set to walk the red carpet.
The 22nd JIMFF will open September 3rd at 7:30 PM KST at the Summer Square of the Jecheon Arts Center, with comedian Jang Do Yeon and actor Moon Sang Min hosting the ceremony. Actor Ahn Jae Hong, this year’s festival ambassador, will also attend.
Directors Kim Jong Kwan, Kim Hong Joon, Jang Cheol Soo, Chung Ji Young and Hah Myung Joong are also among the Korean filmmakers expected at the event, while the acting lineup includes Kim Min, Kim Min Jae, Seolhyun, Kim Eui Sung, Dahyun, Son Ho Jun, Song Hee Jun, Lee El, Lee Jae Joon, Jang Young Nam, Jun Suk Ho and Jung Gun Joo.
Chinese composer Zhao Jiping, this year’s recipient of the Jecheon Film Music Award, will attend as an international guest. The festival is also mounting a special retrospective featuring four films he scored: Yellow Earth, Raise the Red Lantern and Farewell My Concubine.

Rafiki Fariala, director of opening film Congo Boy, will also appear at the ceremony and discuss his work and music with Korean audiences. Other international guests include filmmakers Ryan Booth, Yukinori Makabe, Xiao Bing, Cecilia Kang, Sophie Heldman, Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel, along with actors MC Nem, Claire Chust and Yukino Kishii.
The opening ceremony will also feature the presentation of the 2026 Jecheon Film Music Award, introductions to the competition juries and opening film, and remarks from festival organizers.
Running from September 3rd through 8th under the slogan “Fly Together,” JIMFF 2026 will present 189 films from 51 countries alongside performances by 37 acts across venues in Jecheon. The opening ceremony will also stream live on Naver Chzzk.
