She posted a message on the afternoon of April 21st expressing her hope that the perpetrator pays the price for his malicious criminal acts. She included the phrase “self-inflicted” to emphasize that the defendant must face the consequences of his own actions.
Nana further addressed her fans through the communication platform Bubble on April 22nd to explain her behavior during the proceedings. She admitted, “Seeing his face, I was so angry that I failed to control my emotions.” However, she maintained a firm stance by stating, “I said everything I couldn’t say anywhere else, and I don’t regret my actions or words.”
The actress reassured her worried supporters by telling them she was okay and believed the situation would finally conclude. These statements followed a tense hearing at the Namyangju Branch of the Uijeongbu District Court, where a man in his 30s faced charges of robbery and assault. The trial was opened to the public, specifically at Nana’s request, despite initial plans for a private session.
Nana confessed to taking a Korean herbal medicine for calming the mind before the trial due to extreme nerves, yet she became highly agitated upon facing the defendant. She reportedly shouted, “Are you enjoying this? Look me in the eye,” before regaining her composure to provide her testimony.
Nana provided the court with a detailed account of the struggle that occurred when the man broke into her home. She explained that “He was holding a knife, so instinctively I defended myself,” and she clarified that she had never seen the weapon before the attack. She also flatly denied claims from the defense regarding a financial negotiation, stating, “I didn’t even ask how much money he needed.” The actress spoke candidly about the lasting trauma of the event and noted that her home no longer feels like a safe place. She revealed that she now lives in a state of constant tension and carries self-defense spray even when just picking up deliveries at her front door.
