Ji Chang Wook is stepping into one of his most intense roles yet.

The upcoming film Colony (working title), directed by Yeon Sang Ho, has unveiled first-look stills of Ji Chang Wook as Choi Hyun Seok—teasing a gripping survival story set inside a quarantined building overtaken by a mysterious outbreak.

The film follows a group of isolated survivors trapped in a sealed building, fighting to stay alive as infected individuals evolve in unpredictable ways.

Ji Chang Wook plays Choi Hyun Seok, a building security team officer who is suddenly thrown into chaos and must protect his family at all costs. While on vacation, he becomes trapped in the building with his older sister, Choi Hyun Hee (Kim Shin Rock), who has a physical disability. Determined to keep her safe, he carries her on his back as they struggle to survive.

The newly released stills capture Hyun Seok in the middle of the crisis—stepping forward to protect others using a pole as a weapon, facing off against infected attackers alone, and closely monitoring CCTV footage as he tries to navigate the building. His familiarity with the layout positions him as a key figure in the fight for survival, while also highlighting the film’s intense action sequences.

Known for his wide acting range across projects like Welcome to Samdalri, The Worst of Evil, The Manipulated, and Revolver, Ji Chang Wook is expected to deliver both emotional depth and high-impact action in the role.

“One of the key points is how the infected change, and how the survivors evolve and respond,” Ji Chang Wook said. “It’s going to be a very thrilling and intense film.”

Director Yeon Sang Ho praised the actor, saying, “I already knew he was great at action, but I was also surprised by his emotional performance. The way he studies a character and builds detailed acting choices is impressive.”

Colony is set to hit theaters in May 2026.
