Stray Kids, Jennie, and G-Dragon dominated the 40th Golden Disc Awards, claiming the ceremony’s highest honors during its milestone anniversary year.
The 40th Golden Disc Awards, held January 10th at Taipei Dome, crowned Stray Kids with the Album of the Year, while G-Dragon took home the Digital Song of the Year. The newly introduced Artist of the Year award went to Jennie.
For Stray Kids, the win marked a major career milestone. After earning a Rookie Award at the 33rd Golden Disc Awards, the group returned seven years later to secure its first Daesang. Their fourth full-length album KARMA, which achieved triple-million first-week sales, also earned an Album Bonsang, making them double winners on the night.
G-Dragon delivered one of the evening’s most commanding showings. Returning after an 11-year, five-month hiatus with his third studio album Übermensch, he swept three trophies, including the Digital Song of the Year for “HOME SWEET HOME (feat. Taeyang, Daesung)” and Bonsang wins in both digital and album categories. It marked his first-ever Daesang at the Golden Disc Awards as a solo artist.
Jennie added another career highlight by claiming the newly created Artist of the Year award, underscoring her standing as a global force in K-pop.
