Kim Yun Seok and Kim Seon Ho are officially joining forces for the upcoming tvN drama May the Congressman Protect You (literal title).
Based on the popular web novel of the same name, the fantasy political drama follows veteran congressman Goo Young Jin and young civil servant Cha Jae Rim as they form an unlikely alliance after Goo Young Jin returns as a ghost and travels back to the past.
The series will be directed by Park Shin Woo, known for Our Unwritten Seoul and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, with The Price of Confession writer Kwon Jong Kwan handling the script.
Kim Yun Seok will star as Goo Young Jin, a six-term lawmaker who devoted his life to politics and believed the field was driven more by calculations than ideals. Once a powerful figure at the center of the political world, his life comes to an end after becoming entangled in a corruption scandal.
After returning as a ghost, Goo Young Jin joins hands with Cha Jae Rim in an attempt to rewrite his fate and reclaim power.
Meanwhile, Kim Seon Ho plays Cha Jae Rim, a low-ranking civil servant with little interest in politics who simply hopes to live an ordinary life. His world is completely turned upside down after encountering Goo Young Jin, who drags him into the ruthless political arena as his unlikely protégé.
The drama is already drawing attention for pairing two actors from very different generations and styles in a unique buddy-style story mixing fantasy, politics and dark comedy.

Kim Seon Ho added, “It’s truly an honor to work with actors I respect on such a wonderful project. I really enjoyed the original novel, and the drama script is just as fun. The atmosphere on set has also been great, so I’m already excited to see how it turns out.”
