TVING has locked in November for the release of its new original series Dear X, a haunting, high-gloss descent into the depths of ambition, betrayal, and ruinous love.

Dear X follows Baek Ah Jin (Kim Yoo Jung), a woman who wears a mask to escape her personal hell and rise to the top—leaving behind a trail of crushed “exes” along the way. It’s the story of her glamorous yet destructive fall from grace, and the man who chooses to walk through hell to protect her: Yoon Joon Seo (Kim Young Dae). Together, they deliver a dark, intense melodrama like no other.

The series is directed by hitmaker Lee Eung Bok—best known for Sweet Home, Mr. Sunshine, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, and Descendants of the Sun—in his first collaboration with TVING. He’s joined by co-director Park So Hyun and screenwriter Choi Ja Won, winner of KBS’s 2018 drama script competition. Dear X is based on a massively popular webtoon of the same name, with a global fanbase already fueling pre-release buzz.

On top of its powerhouse production team, the drama also boasts a striking cast, with Kim Yoo Jung, Kim Young Dae, and Kim Do Hoon at the heart.

A newly released glimpse at the table read has only raised anticipation.

Kim Yoo Jung makes a bold transformation as Baek Ah Jin, a woman who survived deep trauma by weaponizing charm and strategy. Climbing from pain to stardom, Ah Jin uses her uncanny ability to read people to bend the world to her will.

Kim Young Dae plays Yoon Joon Seo, Ah Jin’s longtime protector and the only safe harbor she has—until his devotion turns into a slow-burning self-destruction. Convinced his love can save her, Joon Seo is willing to wade through filth.

Kim Do Hoon steps in as Kim Jae Oh, a hardened man shaped by years of abuse from his father. One word from Baek Ah Jin is enough to give his life new meaning, and he chooses to become her shadow.

Dear X premieres exclusively on TVING this November.
