The upcoming TVING original series Dear X (literal title) has secured a stellar cast.
On the 8th, Dear X announced that Kim Yoo Jung, Kim Young Dae, Kim Do Hoon, and Lee Yul Eum have been confirmed for the show. Dear X is a beautiful yet cruel melodramatic thriller about a woman who wears a mask to survive and a man determined to save her. The series has generated significant buzz, especially with director Lee Eung Bok, known for hits like Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Descendants of the Sun, and Netflix’s Sweet Home, teaming up with TVING for the first time.
Kim Yoo Jung takes on the role of Baek Ah Jin, a top actress in Korea who hides a cruel nature behind her beautiful face. Having overcome a tumultuous childhood, she has clawed her way to the top. Kim shared her excitement, saying, “The more I got to know the characters while reading the original webtoon and the script, the more attractive this project became. I am eager to see how the drama will turn out and can’t wait to start filming.”
Kim Young Dae will play Yoon Jun Seo, a man who believes that love is salvation. He’s willing to walk through any mire for Baek Ah Jin, ready to dismantle everything he’s upheld for the sake of love. The actor expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am genuinely thrilled to join ‘Dear X.’ I will approach this role with a strong sense of responsibility and do my utmost to deliver an excellent performance.”
Joining them, Kim Do Hoon plays Kim Jae Oh, Baek Ah Jin’s devoted ally, and Lee Yul Eum portrays Lena, a woman engulfed in unrequited love. Kim Do Hoon commented, “I will do my best to create a fun drama with good synergy,” while Lee Yeol Eum added, “I will work hard to show improved and more mature acting through ‘Dear X.'”
Dear X is set to captivate viewers with the downfall of actress Baek Ah Jin and the desperate love of Yoon Joon Seo, who chooses hell to protect her. The series will premiere on TVING in 2025.
