Netflix has unveiled the main poster and trailer for Trigger, featuring Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang in a high-stakes gun action thriller premiering July 25th.
The series explores what happens when illegal firearms mysteriously appear in gun-free South Korea, following two men who pick up weapons for very different reasons. Set in a world where safety protocols have been removed, the show promises dynamic gun action and events that trigger people’s deepest impulses.
The newly released poster heightens the tension with Lee Do’s (Kim Nam Gil) haunted expression as he faces a smoking gun, accompanied by the chilling line: “What if everyone had a gun in their hand?”

The trailer paints a chaotic picture. Despite the ironic opening line “Thank God Hell Joseon has no guns,” violent gunshots soon echo throughout, and casualties begin mounting. The real problem emerges: there are people who want these weapons.
As illegal firearms disguised as packages surface, Lee Do begins tracking the truth behind their distribution. He encounters the mysterious Moon Baek (Kim Young Kwang), who claims he came to collect a package and reveals crucial evidence: “I received a package a few days ago. It had some bullets and an address list.”
The two form an unlikely partnership to investigate, while illegal gun deliveries continue reaching eager recipients. The trailer shows Gu Jung Man (Park Hoon) holding a weapon and declaring his “opportunity” has arrived, as large sums of money change hands among shadowy figures.
Director Kwon Oh Seung explains, Trigger isn’t just about the gun—it’s about the hands that hold it. “The series explores how meaning changes depending on who’s pulling the trigger and why.” Co-director Kim Jae Hoon adds, “It’s a story about people driven to pick up a gun in a society simmering with resentment—and those trying to make them put it down.”
