Seo Hyun Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok may be reuniting on-screen for the first time in eight years in the upcoming MBC drama Liar (literal title).
On July 3rd, Seo Hyun Jin’s agency, Management SOOP, confirmed to Edaily, “She’s positively reviewing the offer.” Yoo Yeon Seok’s agency, King Kong by Starship, similarly stated that he is “considering the proposal.”
An MBC source also told Edaily that Liar is currently being discussed for broadcast sometime next year.
Liar follows the story of a seemingly perfect first date that takes a dark turn. The morning after, the man and woman involved present completely different versions of what happened, spiraling into a storm of truth, lies, and unexpected twists.
According to MyDaily, Seo Hyun Jin has been offered the role of Kang Ji Sun, a writing instructor at an arts middle school, while Yoo Yeon Seok is being courted to play Min Jun Ho, a cardiac surgeon.
If confirmed, Liar would mark Seo Hyun Jin and Yoo Yeon Seok’s first project together since the 2017 medical hit Dr. Romantic, making this reunion a highly anticipated one among fans.
Meanwhile, Seo Hyun Jin is also slated to star in JTBC’s Love Me, which is set to premiere this December. Meanwhile, Yoo Yeon Seok is currently appearing on SBS’s variety show Whenever Possible.
