Kwak Dong Yeon will continue his military service with the Army’s 35th Infantry Division Military Band, where he will serve alongside fellow actor Lee Jun Young.
TenAsia reported on September 29th that Kwak Dong Yeon has been assigned to the 35th Infantry Division as his permanent unit. He will begin his assignment on September 30th and serve as a member of the division’s military band.
Kwak Dong Yeon enlisted as an active-duty soldier on August 25th. Before entering the military, he remained active in dramas and variety shows, and audiences will continue to see him on screen through projects he filmed before his enlistment. The film Final Interview, which stars Kwak Dong Yeon, is scheduled to be released in November.
His new assignment has also drawn attention because he will be serving alongside actor Lee Jun Young, who is already a member of the 35th Infantry Division Military Band. Lee Jun Young enlisted in July and is currently serving with the band.
Although both actors were born in 1997, Lee Jun Young enlisted first and will therefore be Kwak Dong Yeon’s senior in the military.
Lee Jun Young is also continuing to meet viewers through tvN’s Four Hands, Two Sonatas, which he filmed before enlisting. He recently attracted attention after being spotted performing with the military band at a local festival.
With both actors now serving in the same military band, fans are looking forward to seeing the two 1997-born actors share the same unit during their military service.
