Ban Min Jung is set to get married this September.

TV Report Korea reported Ban Min Jung will tie the knot with her non-celebrity partner on September 6th in Seoul. The ceremony will be attended by the couple’s families and close friends.

The wedding invitation, obtained by TV Report Korea, reads: “We invite you to the day we begin a new chapter with the person who brings happiness simply by being together. We promise to cherish each other with love and care. Please join us as we take our first step toward a lifetime together.”

The invitation also includes the couple’s wedding photos, showing them smiling warmly at each other and sharing a romantic newlywed atmosphere.

Ban Min Jung made her acting debut in 2001 with the film Address Unknown and has built a career spanning more than two decades in both television and film. She has appeared in popular dramas including Dong Yi, My Husband Got a Family, Good Doctor and Hwarang.

Known for her ability to portray a wide range of characters, including complex roles that move between good and evil, Ban Min Jung received recognition for her acting when she won the Drama Category Acting Award at the 20th Korea Culture Entertainment Awards in 2012 for her role in Bridal Mask.

She is also known as the actress who reported being sexually assaulted by fellow actor Cho Duck Je during a film shoot. In 2015, Cho Duck Je was accused of sexually assaulting Ban Min Jung during filming by tearing her underwear and touching her body. Ban Min Jung claimed that she suffered injuries requiring two weeks of medical treatment as a result.

Cho Duck Je was acquitted in the first trial in December 2016. However, the appeals court later overturned the decision, sentencing him to one year in prison suspended for two years and ordering him to complete 40 hours of sexual violence prevention education. His appeal to the Supreme Court was rejected, and the court upheld the lower court’s ruling, making his conviction final.

Cho Duck Je was later charged with defamation for posting content online that damaged Ban Min Jung’s reputation between 2017 and 2018. He was sentenced to one year in prison for the offense.

At the time, Ban Min Jung faced widespread online harassment despite being recognized as the victim in the case. In an interview with Star News, she said, “News articles were filled with unreasonable hateful comments when I came to my senses,” adding, “Some people insulted me by calling me a ‘gold digger,’ but I did not receive even a single won in compensation from Cho Duck Je.”
