Veteran Korean director An Panseok is currently recovering in the hospital after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage.
Max Movie reported on July 30th that director An is receiving inpatient treatment and has shown significant improvement since he was first hospitalized. A source familiar with his condition said the director has recovered considerably compared to when he was initially admitted.
An reportedly collapsed due to a brain hemorrhage and was treated in the intensive care unit before recently being transferred to a general ward.
The acclaimed director most recently helmed The Art of Negotiation starring Lee Je Hoon.
Despite his hospitalization, his upcoming ENA drama Love Doctor (literal title) has already completed filming and post-production and remains on track to premiere this October.
When asked about An’s condition, another source declined to comment. However, the Love Doctor production team confirmed that the drama’s airing schedule remains unchanged.
Ahn Pan Seok is a television director best known for Behind the White Tower, Secret Love Affair and Something in the Rain.
His upcoming series Love Doctor is a romantic drama that follows Min Jae, a doctoral student and former competitive swimmer who lost a leg due to illness, and Yoo Jin, a master’s student searching for a new direction after her career plans fall apart.
The drama stars Choo Young Woo, Kim So Hyun, Kim Min, Lee Kyu Sung and more.
