Baek Jin Hee is opening up about a painful lesson from the early days of her career.

On July 6, Baek posted a video titled “A Painful Confession” on her YouTube channel, “Jiny Is Back.”

Asked about the most difficult moments she has faced in the entertainment industry, Baek said, “Honestly, everything was painful and hard for me.”

“I know this might sound arrogant, but I worked so fiercely back then that I don’t want to go back,” she continued. “If someone told me to do it all over again, I don’t think I could. That’s why my 30s actually feel more comfortable.”

Baek said her 20s were especially difficult because she wanted to do well but lacked experience. “I tried to make up for it with effort, but it didn’t always work, and that was hard,” she said.

She also looked back on the sudden fame that came with starring in the sitcom High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged. “Before it, I was just an ordinary person,” Baek recalled. “For a while, I couldn’t even go to the supermarket, let alone take the subway.”

“All of a sudden, I was getting attention, and whenever I went somewhere crowded, it felt like I was standing still and everyone else was moving around me,” she said. “I think that was the beginning of my panic disorder. Pottery helped me get through that time.”

Baek then spoke about a double-contract issue she faced early in her career.

“It was right when I was starting ‘High Kick,'” she said. “I was already under contract with one agency, but my manager told me my contract with another company had ended. It turned out that wasn’t true. In the end, it became a double contract, and I received a legal notice.”

“I had just started becoming known, so I couldn’t let something like that become a bigger problem,” she continued. “In the end, I lost everything I earned from ‘High Kick’ in penalties.”

“It was a life lesson,” Baek added. “I learned that you can’t trust people too easily.”
