Kim Woo Seok of FANTASY BOYS is mourning the loss of his mother, just nine months after his father passed away earlier this year.
According to a Sports Kyunghyang report on October 1, Kim’s mother passed away that day after battling a chronic illness. Kim is currently with his family at a funeral home in Seoul, where they are receiving mourners.
Kim is expected to temporarily suspend his scheduled activities to spend time with his family and mourn his mother. His return date has not yet been announced.
The funeral will be held privately at the family’s request, with only family members, relatives and close acquaintances in attendance.
Kim also lost his father in January. The loss of both parents within the same year has prompted an outpouring of condolences and support from fans.
Kim, who was born in 2004, is currently in his fourth year since making his debut. He became a member of FANTASY BOYS after placing 10th on MBC’s audition program Fantasy Boys: My Teenage Boy in 2023.
He officially debuted with the group in September 2023 with their first mini-album, NEW TOMORROW. Since then, he has worked as a vocalist and performer and recently expanded into acting with the stage play The Illusion of Home.
