BTS leader RM is teaming up with the National Museum of Korea to help share Korean cultural heritage with the world.

The museum announced on June 20th that RM has been appointed its global ambassador, marking the first time it has named someone to the role.

RM has long shown a deep interest in Korean traditional culture and art. In 2021 and 2022, he donated 100 million won (about $65,000) each year to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation to support the preservation, restoration and use of Korean cultural heritage abroad.

“I’m overjoyed to take on this role,” RM said of his appointment. “I’ll do my part so that the beauty and value of our cultural heritage can reach more people.”

Director Yoo said, “It is meaningful to be able to share the beauty of our cultural heritage with the world together with RM. We look forward to him playing a major role in helping the National Museum of Korea become a museum loved by people around the world.”
