RM had fans laughing after sharing a wild story from his military days involving snacks, snail cream — and a broken PX payment machine.
During a recent Weverse livestream with fellow BTS members J-Hope, V and Jimin, the group swapped stories about life at training camp.
Jimin recalled that he and Jungkook used to attend religious services just to get snacks, joking that Jungkook once complained, “Do we really have to do all this just for one piece of bread?”
He added that later on, they would sometimes give their cards to fellow soldiers and tell them to grab snacks from the convenience store during weekend breaks.
That’s when RM jumped in with his own unforgettable story.
“I gave my card to soldiers in the platoon next to ours so they could buy snacks,” he said. “But they ended up charging 660,000 won (approximately $440) at the PX. They bought everything from snail cream to daily necessities.”
RM said the shopping spree became so massive that the PX payment machine reportedly crashed. “They told me it was the first time that had ever happened at the Nonsan training center,” he said with a laugh.
According to RM, his commanding officer later called him in and asked what exactly had happened. “I told him, ‘I just told them to buy some snacks,'” RM recalled. “But they bought all kinds of health products to send to their moms, and the receipt had over 100 items on it.”
He added that one of the soldiers later apologized to him, saying, “I told him, ‘It’s okay, but snail cream? Isn’t that a bit much?'”
J-Hope then shared that his own unit was much stricter, saying officers warned them never to buy things for others, while V joked that he mostly got treated by senior soldiers instead.
Meanwhile, BTS is also gearing up for a major return to the American Music Awards stage. Organizers confirmed on May 20th that the group will appear at the 2026 ceremony, marking their first AMA appearance in about five years since winning Artist of the Year in 2021.
