SEVENTEEN members DK and Vernon will begin their mandatory military service in August and September.
Pledis Entertainment officially announced the members’ enlistment dates on July 27th. According to Pledis Entertainment, Vernon will begin his alternative service on August 20th, while DK will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the Army on September 8th. Both members will continue their scheduled activities before their enlistment.
Pledis asked fans not to visit the enlistment sites, explaining that the entrance ceremony is a private event attended by many soldiers and their families. The agency also requested fans refrain from visiting Vernon’s service location.
“DK and Vernon will continue to connect with CARATs through various pre-recorded content prepared in advance,” Pledis said. “We ask for your continued love and support so they can complete their military service safely and return in good health.”
The announcement came shortly after Vernon and DK renewed their contracts with Pledis, marking the group’s second contract renewal with the agency.
Meanwhile, several SEVENTEEN members are already completing their military duties. Hoshi and Woozi are currently serving, while Wonwoo is serving as a social service worker. Jeonghan, who was the first member to enlist, was discharged in June.
