BIBI is drawing mixed reactions over a provocative performance at the Waterbomb festival.
The singer took the stage at Waterbomb Seoul 2026 on July 25 at the outdoor Global Stage at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
Wearing a form-fitting white jumpsuit, BIBI performed some of her biggest hits, including “Bam Yang Gang” and “BIBI Vengeance.” Known for her bold, sexy stage presence, BIBI quickly commanded the crowd’s attention.
But one moment in particular sparked debate online.
During the performance, BIBI dropped to her knees and unzipped the front of her water-soaked jumpsuit, revealing the bikini top she was wearing underneath.
In another part of the performance, she knelt while surrounded by a group of shirtless male dancers. BIBI sang while looking up toward microphones held by the dancers, prompting some viewers to say the staging was too sexually suggestive.
After clips of the performance spread online, reactions were sharply divided.
Those defending the performance said the choreography fit the atmosphere of an adults-only festival. Waterbomb has also become known over the years for performances highlighting the sexier side of female artists, including Kwon Eunbi.
Fans praised BIBI’s stage, writing, “I’m glad I went to Waterbomb,” “That was so BIBI,” and “She really turned up the heat.”
Others felt the performance went too far. Comments included, “Just because it’s 19+ doesn’t mean anything goes,” “She could’ve just worn the bikini from the start. Unzipping like that was a bit much,” “I didn’t like the part with all the men surrounding her,” and “It’s so explicit that it’s uncomfortable to watch.”
Another viewer offered a different concern, writing, “A performance is a performance, but I worry about clips being uploaded online with no restrictions where younger kids can see them.”
BIBI previously had a wardrobe mishap at Waterbomb in 2022 while taking off her T-shirt, when the strap of her bikini top came undone. Looking startled, she quickly covered herself with her hands before a staff member helped fix her outfit, and she continued the performance.
Her latest stage has once again sparked debate over whether such provocative performances should be viewed as artistic expression or whether performers at large public events should be more mindful of how far they push the envelope.
