Netflix’s original variety show Jae-seok’s B&B Rules! has released its first five episodes as the fallout continues over Byeon Woo Seok’s drama Perfect Crown.
The first five episodes dropped on Netflix on May 26th. The show follows rookie campsite owner Yoo Jae Suk and his unpredictable staff members Lee Kwang Soo, Byeon Woo Seok and Ji Ye Eun as they welcome guests for a noisy, playful escape from everyday life.
It had already drawn attention with its star-studded lineup, including Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, Byeon Woo Seok and Ji Ye Eun, along with Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon as part-time staff members. But its release now comes as Byeon remains under scrutiny over the historical distortion controversy surrounding Perfect Crown.

The drama sparked backlash after a coronation scene in episode 11 drew criticism over its depiction of royal symbols and historical distortion. Byeon later posted a handwritten apology, saying he had not thought deeply enough about the work’s historical context or how viewers might receive it. He briefly apologized again at the Jae-seok’s B&B Rules! press event on May 19th.
The controversy has continued even after the drama’s finale. A National Assembly e-petition calling for the drama to be pulled from broadcast and removed from streaming platforms surpassed 50,000 signatures on Tuesday, sending it to committee review. The drama remains available on Disney+ and Wavve, with reruns also airing on MBC, prompting continued calls for its removal.
Amid the ongoing backlash, Jae-seok’s B&B Rules! has begun its Netflix rollout with five episodes now available. The remaining episodes are set to arrive on June 2nd.
