Ahn Hyo Seop and Chae Won Bin are off to an intriguing start with Sold Out on You, hinting at a romance worth watching.

The SBS drama premiered on April 22 with a nationwide rating of 3.3%, slightly below its predecessor Dynamite Kiss, which opened at 4.5%. Still, it marked SBS’s first Wednesday-Thursday drama in about four months since that series wrapped in December, landing in second place among major broadcast networks (KBS, MBC, SBS) in its time slot.

The first episode introduces two work-obsessed leads living completely different lives. Ahn Hyo Seop’s Matthew Lee is a small-town multitasker juggling mushroom farming, business, and local complaints—while somehow still finding time for workouts and reading. His relentless, almost “perfect life” routine leaves everyone around him impressed.

On the other end is Chae Won Bin’s Dam Ye Jin, a home shopping host who embodies hustle culture. She goes all-in to sell out products, even thinking about future items to sell during dates.

But her drive hits a setback when she loses a coveted weekend primetime slot to a rival.

Things take a turn when her boss, played by Shin Dong Mi, tasks her with landing a major global skincare brand—despite Ye Jin’s personal reluctance tied to past trauma. Determined not to give up her spot, she meets with executive Seo Eric (Kim Beom) and heads to a rural village to secure a key ingredient deal.

That’s where she crosses paths with Matthew Lee. Their first encounter turns into a tense standoff on a narrow road, with Ye Jin’s red sports car and Matthew’s tractor blocking each other completely. Neither can move forward or back, and the moment escalates into a hilariously frustrating clash, setting the tone for their relationship.

Episode 2 airs April 23rd at 9 PM KST on SBS.
