Lovelyz’s Jeong Yein has expressed her gratitude for the steady stream of offers she has been receiving for variety shows and acting projects.

During an interview held on the afternoon of October 7th at a cafe in Seoul to mark the release of TVING’s dating reality show Enemies in the Outfield Seats, Jeong Yein opened up about taking on her first regular MC role on a dating show.

“I am spending each day feeling incredibly grateful,” she said.

Enemies in the Outfield Seats follows single men and women who support rival baseball teams as they meet and form connections while watching a live game at a baseball stadium. Jeong Yein co-hosts the show with comedian Lee Yong Jin and former professional baseball player-turned-broadcaster Hwang Jae Gyun.

Showrunner Lee Ki Yeon explained why Jeong Yein was cast, saying, “We were impressed by her natural and uninhibited charm in her YouTube content.”

Jeong Yein said she has been enjoying the experience. “This is my first time doing a dating reality show, and the chemistry with the other hosts has been surprisingly good. We didn’t rehearse separately. We just had a pre-production meeting and started filming right away.”

“If I had known dating reality shows were this much fun, I would have wanted to do one sooner,” she added.

More importantly, Jeong Yein is expanding her acting career with a major role in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. She will take over the role of Cheon Jang Mi, a fifth-year senior nurse on the trauma team, following Ha Young’s departure from the series.

Ha Young played Cheon Jang Mi in Season 1 but will not return for the new season amid controversy surrounding allegations that her great-grandfather collaborated with Japan during its colonial rule of Korea.

Jeong Yein said she feels grateful for the opportunity to join such a popular series. Her casting also comes as her acting career continues to gain momentum, with production on Seasons 2 and 3 of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call scheduled to begin simultaneously this month.

“I am spending each day feeling incredibly grateful,” Jeong Yein said, expressing her appreciation for the many opportunities she has received.

Enemies in the Outfield Seats consists of eight episodes, with new episodes released every Monday at 6 p.m. KST on TVING.
