Amid ongoing controversies surrounding BLACKPINK member Jisoo‘s older brother, a childhood anecdote shared by Jisoo herself has resurfaced and is drawing renewed attention.
On the 20th, a video detailing a family story revealed by Jisoo in 2018 began circulating online. At the time, Jisoo had explained that a scar above her eyebrow was a result of an incident involving her brother.
Jisoo recounted that the incident occurred around the age of five at a playground. When a disinfection truck passed by, her older brother playfully warned her, “If you touch the smoke, you’ll die. It’s like a devil.” He urged her to run away. Believing him, Jisoo hastily climbed, but ended up hitting her head on a railing and sustaining a significant injury.
“I was bleeding all over my body from the head injury,” she recalled. “I told my brother, ‘I’m bleeding,’ but he responded, ‘What do you want me to do? Just run away quickly.'” She added, “After the disinfection truck passed, he said, ‘I saved you.'”

Jisoo also described the scene as she returned home bleeding. She mentioned that people around her looked at her with surprised expressions. “I told my brother, ‘I think I’m seriously hurt,’ but he replied, ‘It’s okay. It could have been worse,'” she shared. Upon arriving home, her family was also greatly alarmed and quickly examined the wound.
Meanwhile, Jisoo recently issued a statement clarifying that “the matters currently being raised are unrelated to the artist and the agency.” Through her legal representatives, she emphasized her independent relationship with her family. Furthermore, she announced a firm stance against the spread of unconfirmed information and false facts.
