BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has drawn a clear line regarding the controversy surrounding her older brother’s alleged sexual misconduct, but questionable developments are raising further scrutiny.
Gangnam Police in Seoul arrested a man in his 30s on April 15th on charges of sexual assault. The suspect, identified only as “A,” allegedly brought a female streamer to his residence and attempted physical contact against the woman’s will. Speculation soon followed that the individual was Jisoo’s older brother, sparking controversy over possible ties to her agency.
Jisoo’s legal representative addressed the issue on April 20th, saying they have no knowledge of and are not involved in the individual’s private life. The statement also clarified that no family members were involved in decision-making or received compensation during the establishment of BLISSOO.

Some changes have been noted following the statement. Observers pointed out that the name of Jisoo’s older brother, which had previously appeared in the credits of the Netflix original Boyfriend on Demand, was removed and replaced with “BLISSOO Entertainment.” The current credits for Jisoo’s management now list “BLISSOO Entertainment.”
Her official schedule has also been affected. Jisoo canceled her airport press greetings on April 22nd ahead of her departure to Paris, with a representative citing “internal circumstances”.
Some netizens responded by saying, “It’s hard to understand why his name was listed in credits before,” and “They need to clearly explain whether they are still in contact.” Additional claims have also surfaced that his name appeared with a title in other projects, further fueling the controversy.
The suspect is currently in custody and standing trial while denying the charges.
