Jisoo, a member of BLACKPINK and an actress, will receive the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award at the Cannes International Series Festival.

Canneseries announced on March 10th that Jisoo will be honored at the 9th Canneseries, which will take place in France from April 23rd to 28th.

Albin Lewi, the Artistic Director of Canneseries, explained the reason for her selection, saying, “Her artistic journey, ability to pioneer new creative fields, and global aura were ideal elements in selecting her as a recipient.” He added, “This awards ceremony will be one of the highlights of the season.”

The Madame Figaro Rising Star Award is given to actors who are gaining attention globally. Previous winners include Sydney Sweeney, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Marie Colomb and Ella Purnell.

Jisoo shared the news by reposting Canneseries’ Instagram post to her own Instagram Story, adding heart emojis.

In other news, Jisoo’s Netflix series Boyfriend On Demand ranked 5th globally in the TV Shows category on FlixPatrol after its release. It topped the charts in Korea, India and Hong Kong and made it to the top 10 in several other countries, including Brazil.

Although some critics raised concerns about Jisoo’s acting, others noted that her global fanbase and star power helped drive the buzz around the show.
