Netflix is heading straight into the snow.
The streaming giant has teamed up with producer Na Young Seok’s hit-making team to launch Take a Hike!, a brand-new variety series that throws four self-proclaimed non-hikers into a brutal midwinter trek across Korea’s snow-covered mountains.
The premise is simple and slightly unhinged: four men who have never willingly gone hiking attempt their first-ever winter mountain expedition, tackling some of Korea’s most stunning—and unforgiving—snowy peaks. The show captures raw exhaustion, unexpected bonding, and the strange pull that keeps people coming back to hiking once they start.
Leading the challenge are four of Korea’s most buzzed-about names right now: singer-songwriter Car the garden, DAY6 drummer Dowoon, rising actor Lee Chae Min, and ALLDAY PROJECT’s Tarzzan.
Car the garden brings his signature voice and sharp, relatable wit, previously winning over viewers with his candid talk on dating shows. Dowoon, known as DAY6’s youngest member and an easygoing social butterfly, adds playful charm and unexpected warmth. Lee Chae Min, now a global breakout thanks to recent dramas, steps in as a fast-rising variety scene favorite. Rounding out the group is TARZZAN, whose cool stage presence contrasts with his offbeat personality and seemingly endless stamina. Together, the four form a lineup built for chaos and unpredictable chemistry.
Take a Hike! also draws attention as the latest project from the Na Young Seok producing team, often dubbed the industry’s “variety hit factory.” The series is directed by Park Hyun Yong, known for delivering laughs on shows like Earth Arcade, Jinny’s Kitchen, and the New Journey to the West franchise.
Park teased the core appeal of the show, saying, “There’s a saying that suffering together makes people close fast. Watching four total strangers grow close while climbing icy mountains in minus-20-degree weather is the biggest charm of the show.” He added, “I hope viewers enjoy seeing how these guys, who never understood hiking, slowly discover the appeal of K-hiking and grow through the experience.”
Take a Hike! will stream exclusively on Netflix.
