YoonA was not present at the event, but her name served as the invisible thread connecting the two stars on stage. One man had completed an iconic romance with her, while the other had just launched his career alongside her. Now, they stood face-to-face.
The production presentation for the new Netflix series Cashero took place on the morning of December 22nd, attended by director Lee Chang Min and cast members Junho, Kim Hye Jun, Kim Byeong Cheol, Kim Hyang Gi, Lee Chae Min, and Kang Han Na. Among the attendees, the pairing that drew the most attention was undoubtedly Junho and Lee Chae Min.
Both actors have starred opposite Girls’ Generation’s YoonA. Junho famously partnered with her in the JTBC hit King the Land, where their chemistry as Gu Won and Cheon Sa Rang redefined the romantic comedy genre and solidified his status as a top romance lead. Lee Chae Min met YoonA in the tvN drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, where he played a tyrant with an impeccable sense of taste who falls for YoonA’s time-traveling chef character.
Having both worked with YoonA, the two men stood in the same frame for the first time in Cashero.
Lee Chae Min openly expressed his respect for Junho.
“It was such an honor to act alongside him,” Lee said. “While acting, I kept thinking, ‘How can someone be so incredibly cool?’ He’s an excellent dancer, and he utilizes his body exceptionally well. There were many action scenes, but his ability to flawlessly execute everything was truly impressive. My senior guided me a great deal, and it felt like a dream-like filming experience.”
Junho’s response was equally complimentary. “From the very beginning of our acting together, it was clear how focused and prepared Lee Chae Min was,” he revealed. “He was incredibly flexible, even while rehearsing lines and coordinating our rhythm. Our time acting together was enjoyable, and I wished we could meet much more often. As filming drew to a close, I felt a sense of regret about parting ways.”
The on-site photos highlighted their contrasting vibes. Junho exuded the composed confidence of a veteran “complete male lead,” while Lee Chae Min, with his towering 190 cm physique, showcased the fresh energy of a rising star.
Cashero is a slice-of-life hero drama set to be released on December 26th. It follows Sang Woong (played by Junho), an ordinary salaryman struggling with wedding funds and rent, who gains superpowers that increase in strength proportionally to the amount of cash he holds.
