Kim Yoo Jung has marked Hwang In Yeop as her next target in TVING’s original series Dear X.
Episodes 5 and 6, released yesterday, follow Baek Ah Jin (Kim Yoo Jung) as she makes a strikingly successful debut as an actress, beginning her fierce ascent toward the top.
Her rising fame immediately draws attention—and resistance. Fellow agency actress Rena (Lee Yul Eum) views Ah Jin as a threat from the moment she appears, fueled not only by rivalry but by frustration that agency CEO Seo Mi Ri (Kim Ji Young) keeps pushing Ah Jin into situations where she inevitably crosses paths with her ex, Heo In Kang (Hwang In Yeop). Every offhand comment and attitude from Rena stokes Ah Jin’s growing discomfort.
Through her manager Hyan Gi (Hyun Seo Ha), Ah Jin learns about a secret “shackle file” kept by CEO Seo—a document capable of threatening Rena, but equally dangerous to Ah Jin. But before she gets her hands on it, Rena beats her to it, subjecting her to humiliating insults and violence. But Ah Jin had planned her countermove from the start. During the agency’s anniversary event, she releases a video revealing Rena’s true nature, delivering a sharp warning and a satisfying strike back.
The higher Ah Jin climbs, however, the more precarious her truth becomes. Park Dae Ho (Shin Mun Sung)—the detective in charge of her father Baek Sun Gyu’s (Bae Soo Bin) death—reappears, driven by revenge and threatening to expose her. Sensing the danger, Yoon Jun Seo (Kim Young Dae) and Kim Jae Oh (Kim Do Hoon) join forces to monitor Dae Ho’s moves and shield her from ruin.
Both men remain determined to be Ah Jin’s protectors and allies.

When she says, “Help me. I’m going to love him—Heo In Kang,” they step into her enigmatic plan without hesitation. Ah Jin, knowing her climb is far from over, intends to use In Kang as a stepping stone toward her next level.
She begins by staging chance encounters with him and the people around him. At first, In Kang remains wary and suspicious, but as Ah Jin consistently sees through him with unnerving clarity, he slowly lets his guard down—walking straight into the trap she set. Now all eyes are on the fallout awaiting him once the snare tightens.
