FIFTY FIFTY’s Keena has hit pause on promotional activities amid what insiders describe as a serious psychological fallout.

While her management cites vague “health concerns,” sources close to the situation reveal the K-pop star is battling symptoms consistent with PTSD after facing off with former CEO Ahn Sung Il in a contentious police interrogation room.

FIFTY FIFTY returned on the 29th of last month with their third mini-album, Day & Night. However, things went sideways from the start, with Keena unable to even participate in comeback performances. This album held special significance for Keena, who, as the eldest member, led her groupmates after the big turmoil. But everything collapsed after a police cross-examination with Ahn Sung Il on the 15th of last month.

In August last year, Keena filed charges against Ahn for document forgery and use of falsified documents. Ahn allegedly forged Keena’s signature without consent to allocate her only 0.5% of the copyright shares for their hit “Cupid.”

Gangnam Police Station conducted a face-to-face interrogation during Ahn’s investigation—Keena requested this. With her lawyer present, Keena spent two hours challenging Ahn’s claims. However, the direct confrontation with Ahn proved to be a miscalculation. Her mental health took a big hit immediately following the interrogation, leading to symptoms including vomiting, hallucinations, insomnia, and loss of appetite. Keena informed her agency of these issues, which led to the decision to pause her activities.

Currently, Keena is focusing entirely on recovery. She plans to rejoin group promotions this month if her condition improves. FIFTY FIFTY will be promoting their new release until the end of the month.

Meanwhile, FIFTY FIFTY’s new title track “Pookie” in particular is generating significant buzz, making waves on international charts including Spotify and Apple Music, while its music video has surpassed 10 million views.
