The Journey to Gyeongju, starring Lee Jeong Eun, Kong Hyo Jin, Park So Dam and Lee Yeon, has set an August 26th theatrical release and unveiled two new posters.
The family revenge film follows a mother and her three daughters who, after waiting eight years for justice for their youngest daughter Gyeong Ju, set out on a deadly trip of their own.
The first poster shows the four women inside a yellow van, each revealing a glimpse of her personality. Mother Ok Sil (Lee Jeong Eun) prays with a rosary in hand, eldest daughter Jan Ju (Kong Hyo Jin) nervously grips the wheel, second daughter Young Ju (Park So Dam) tests a disposable camera meant to help build their alibi, and third daughter Dong Ju (Lee Yeon) sleeps peacefully.
It looks like an ordinary family road trip — until a red human-shaped silhouette appears among them alongside the line, “We kidnapped the killer.”

The second poster shows the four smiling for a family photo at Gyeongju’s Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond in matching “FAMILY” shirts. But behind the cheerful pose is a revenge plan eight years in the making.
“The trip is the alibi. Revenge is the goal. We kidnapped the killer,” the poster reads, with blood splatters hinting at just how dark their family vacation is about to get.
The cast brings together Parasite stars Lee Jeong Eun and Park So Dam, When the Camellia Blooms star Kong Hyo Jin, as well as Juvenile Justice star Lee Yeon.
The film marks director Kim Mi Jo’s first commercial feature following her acclaimed debut Gull. Ahead of its release, The Journey to Gyeongju has also been invited to international festivals, including the Hawaii International Film Festival and the Florence Korea Film Fest.
The Journey to Gyeongju hits theaters nationwide August 26th.
