Kong Hyo Jin is taking on a bold new transformation in MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama A Bona Fide Killer (literal title).
A Bona Fide Killer follows a working mom with the world’s most dangerous job as she struggles to balance her career and family life.
Kong stars as Yoo Bona, a manager at Durumi Electronics and a legendary sniper known as Kingfisher. While living an ordinary life as a married woman, Bona secretly punishes violent criminals who have escaped the law. After returning to work from a three-year maternity leave, she begins her double life all over again.
The newly released stills highlight Bona’s sharply contrasting lives. In one image, she aims a sniper rifle with a cold, focused gaze, showing the charisma of a killer who can take down a target with a single shot. At the office, she is fully immersed in her work as a manager, hinting at her professional side as a top performer.
At home and around her family, Bona shows a completely different side. She takes care of housework and her loved ones despite her busy life, and smiles comfortably in front of her husband and daughter. The drama will also follow the everyday moments she faces as an ordinary wife and mother, unfolding them with Bona’s own playful touch.
“Kong Hyo Jin is leading the set by portraying both the realistic struggles of a working mom and the sharply different side of a killer feared by criminals in a very layered way,” the production team said.
Based on the popular Kakao Webtoon of the same name, A Bona Fide Killer premieres July 31st at 9:50 PM KST.
