Park So Dam recently went candid about how she felt while taking a long break due to health reasons.

Harper’s Bazaar Korea released a new pictorial featuring Park So Dam, marking her return to the screen with the TVING original series Death’s Game. Dropping her character Death’s sharp and cold demeanor, the actress embraced her clear and natural visage for the photoshoot.

Reflecting on her sudden hiatus two years ago and her recent return to acting, Park So Dam commented, “When I first got the script, I could hardly speak. I used to always say I was fine, but looking back, I think I only really became fine after finishing this project. Now, I’ve learned how to properly take care of myself and recover.”

On portraying a character with the terrifying power to drive anyone to death, she shared, “I had to remain unshaken no matter what the opponent did. Just standing there and delivering lines was as draining as shooting action scenes. I would come home from filming completely exhausted.”

As she crossed her 10th anniversary in the industry and looked ahead to the new year, Park So Dam expressed a desire to age gracefully like her close friend, veteran actor Shin Goo. “I want to grow old like him. He always says to live for tomorrow, and that comforts me. To act like him, I’ve just ‘only’ completed 10 years. It’s still just the beginning. I want to age joyfully and willingly,” she shared.

Meanwhile, Death’s Game revolves around Choi Yi Jae (So In Guk), who, moments before falling into hell, is given the grim task to live out 12 deaths and lifetimes by Death (Park So Dam).
