ALPHA DRIVE ONE member Geonwoo has filed a lawsuit against his agency WAKEONE, a subsidiary of CJ ENM, reportedly seeking to return to group activities after a six-month hiatus.
According to MyDaily on October 25th, Geonwoo recently filed a lawsuit seeking legal clarification of his contractual status with the agency.
Sources said Geonwoo has expressed his desire to rejoin the group and repeatedly communicated his wishes to WAKEONE. He reportedly pursued legal action after the agency failed to take the measures he had requested.
Responding to the report, WAKEONE told MyDaily, “As legal proceedings are currently underway, we ask for your understanding that we are unable to comment on the specific details.”
Geonwoo debuted as a member of ALPHA DRIVE ONE, formed through Mnet’s survival show BOYS II PLANET in 2025.
However, he suspended his activities in April following controversy over inappropriate remarks made during a filming session. Geonwoo reportedly expressed frustration about a staff member using offensive language, unaware that his microphone was still on.
At the time, WAKEONE explained that his remarks were not intended as criticism or a personal attack, although it acknowledged that he had used profanity.
Geonwoo subsequently took a hiatus to reflect on his behavior, while ALPHA DRIVE ONE has continued promoting as a seven-member group without him.
